Months after they announced that guitarist Diego Cavallotti was walking away from the band, Italian metal act Lacuna Coil announced that they’ve got a new full-time guitarist in their ranks with the addition of guitarist/producer Daniele Salomone. Previously featured in the band Inverno, the guitarist is now a full-time fixture in the incredibly popular band.
Over on Instargram page, Salomone expressed his excitement over joining Lacuna Coil:
“I’m so grateful to @lacunacoilofficial for this amazing experience . I’m very honoured to help them. I want to thanks a lot @cristinascabbia @maki @andrea_ferro_official & @richardmeiz (aka pastafrollo) for trusted me. so yes guys the Unknown man it’s me …”
Salomone officially made his debut with Lacuna Coil during their August 4 show at Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Romania. Since then, Salomone’s been the go-to guy.
For those that don’t remember, Cavalotti left the band of his own volition. In a statement posted around the time of his departure, he said his choice wasn’t based on anything bad or negative with the band as a whole. Instead, he decided to end his 10 year time with the band to do other things.
“Good morning everyone.
“I want to share with all of you this post regarding my departure from the band.
“Yes, I am no longer part of the Lacuna Coil.
“Although this decision is not the result of my dissatisfaction or desire to explore new opportunities, I have serenely decided to accept it in consideration of these almost 10 wonderful years spent together, playing around the world, and to allow the band to continue its course without me.
“I wish to Maki, Andrea, Cristina and Richard the greatest success and the greatest satisfaction. I thank them for the huge wealth of experience gained over all these years, always side by side.
“I thank all of you, friends, fans and artists who have written to me but above all for the immense support that I’m receiving.
“However, this is not the end of anything, one chapter has just been closed and I am ready to write another one. For me Music is, and remains, my only reason for living and I will never stop doing what I love, even if that meant going back to playing in garages or in front of anyone.
“I can’t wait to find out what the future has for me, I am ready to evaluate every possible new opportunity and I will continue to carry out my projects with pride and dedication.
“Thank you very much to everyone, see you around.
“Diego.”
Now that the band’s at full capacity and getting ready to release their next album Sleepless Empire this upcoming Valentine’s Day, Lacuna Coil is back to full strength and ready to take on the world
