I’ve been a giddy little goose ever since Korn first announced they were officially teaming up with Adidas last year. I’ve never not thought of the two as a pair, so it was a collaboration essentially made in heaven. They’ve already released two collections so far, but this one specifically focuses on everything related to their 1994 self-titled debut.
Called the Korn x Adidas Superstar, the newest model resembles the black and white ones Jonathan Davis wore in the music video for “Blind,” with his red and black tracksuit from the video also being replicated for the apparel portion of the collection.
There are some classic features to the shoe, like the black leather upper and the signature Shell-Toes. The striping on the shoes is mismatched, with the left shoe featuring an emblemed “Est. 1994” in a red font that matches the inner tongue. The right shoe is printed with alternating patterns of both Korn and Adidas’s logos. The usual Superstar debossing was recreated with Korn’s font, and each of the insoles features the album art from their self-titled debut. And, of course, you get a Korn guitar pick to go with them as well.
Rounding out the new collection will be a T-shirt that also has the album art on it, a purple plaid tracksuit (I don’t think the whole thing is plaid but if it is, more power to ya for rocking it), a hoodie, a flannel shirt, and a tote bag.
The Korn x Adidas Superstar shoe and accompanying apparel will be released sometime in October. They’ll cost a somewhat pretty penny at $140, but they just look so cool. Definitely worth it, in my opinion.
