Ever wanted to go to Las Vegas and just burn cash on fleeting experiences that will somehow make you feel young and impulsive again? Thanks to a newly announced residency at Park MGM, you don’t ever have to sit down at a poker table or try your hand at craps to throw your money away — you can just buy a ticket to Mötley Crüe‘s residency.
Set to take place at Dolby Live at Park MGM, the Crüe’s residency will run for 11 shows between March 28 and April 19. It’s actually the third residency the band’s had in Vegas, but it seems like there are plenty of suckers out there to spend premium cash to watch aging rockers suck wind more than Vince Neil at a buffet.
Though tickets are sure to be crazy expensive, given the residency’s location and the nostalgia factor, there’s at least one positive to this whole debacle. Promoters say a portion of each ticket sale will go to the benefit of the Nevada Partnership of Homeless Youth, which aims to help young people living on the street move into stable housing.
According to a press release regarding the residency, Mötley Crüe suggest they’ll “take the audience on a journey back to their gritty rock beginnings” — you know, back when they were good. Apparently it’s going to be a “tell-all show” that will eventually end up in the totally not backing track-riddled world stadium tour.
The band had this to say about the residency:
“Motley Crue and Las Vegas have always been the perfect combination of extravagance and decadence. We’ve always loved the idea of the Vegas residency, because we’ve always loved the idea of staying in one location to build a unique show for the fans. We’re excited to get into rehearsals and work up a lot of songs that have been requested by the fans for years.”
Tickets for the residency will go on sale to the public next Friday, October 11, with various pre-sales kicking off this Friday.
