The reason Majestica remains on the map is due to their ability to reinvent themselves and increase the power when composing new material. Power Train is one of their most captivating and detached bets from any preconceived notions. Not to mention that their leader, Tommy Johansson, is in his best vocal form, and his skilled musicians don’t let us breathe with their immense talent.
This album has the particularity of growing second by second, becoming even more explosive as we get closer to the end. Starting with the anthem that gives the album its name, moving through a slightly less pretentious piece, we reach one of the most epic moments of this work with the third track titled “Battle Cry.” It’s a compilation of absolutely bombastic moments, powerful and admirable choruses, a vocal range that astonishes every minute, and an atmosphere that completely immerses us in the world of Majestica. Of course, we couldn’t expect less from the next track on the list, “Megatrue,” which becomes an addictive product from its first notes played by a deep and sublime bass.
This meticulously crafted album offers us a range of possibilities and a world of colors with a level of epicness that is impossible to describe. In fact, it’s no surprise that they chose “A Story In The Night” as the second single from this majestic musical lightning bolt. If we analyze its composition more closely, we’ll find moments, though fleeting, that remind us not only of old bands like Rhapsody Of Fire or Sonata Arctica, but even groups like Dragonforce and their epic piece “Symphony Of The Night.” It’s almost certain that the plans to elevate Majestica to the skies were always part of Johansson’s vision. However, it took some time to find the perfect formula, now clearly visible and tangible.
The trident that shapes this album is an undisputed declaration of victory, a symbol of conquest and satisfaction, but one thing we’re sure of is that there’s still a long way to go. For now, the train has departed. Crew, please enjoy the journey.
