Aye yi yi! Oceano has stayed in the drama like it’s a fucking Airbnb, and now there’s another new bit of tea to add to the saga. The retiring band was just accused by artist Chris Gallien of stealing his idea for the band’s farewell tour flyer, causing quite a hubbub amongst fans on social media. Now, Gallien has dropped the receipts showing that vocalist Adam Warren attempted to pay him off. Possibly just to hush him up, but probably to make amends.

Once Gallien made this discovery, he texted Warren calling out the bullshit:

“I’m a bit lost for words and don’t know what to say right now. But I’m pretty bummed to see this. Looks an awful lot like the flier I provided you, but was told didn’t make the cut. Aside from some texturing and color grading, it’s basically the same flier. My wife came into my office to congratulate me thinking it was mine. ‘I thought you said your flier didn’t make it.’”

To that, Warren responded with this:

“I have sent you 100 dollars that’s 50 less than I paid for all the finals and social media edits and changes for the one in use. Typically do not do that. But given we will be working together further I hope this shows my intentions are not to hurt feelings but to utilize the best visuals for my vision bar none.”

Apparently there are screenshots proving the compensation was attempted through the payment app Zelle. It wasn’t about the money for Gallien, though—the band continually rejected his submission, only to use art that looked exactly like what Gallien submitted in the first place. Why be on the fuck shit? Just keep it a buck.

Whether or not the delayed compensation made any difference is really up to Gallien. Now that it’s relatively handled, hopefully Oceano can head out on the farewell tour without any other crap popping up in their ether.
