After officially retiring from touring in 2019, the legendary thrash metal titans are making a triumphant return to the stage with their first Canadian performance in six years. On July 11, 2025, SLAYER will unleash their fury at Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ) in Quebec City.
Last fall, SLAYER performed reunion shows at Riot Fest in Chicago and Aftershock in Sacramento (October 10, 2024). Their scheduled performance at Louder Than Life in Louisville was cancelled due to severe weather.
SLAYER is set to perform at the 2025 Louder Than Life festival, happening September 18-21 at the Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, the band will take the stage at BLACK SABBATH‘s final concert on July 5 at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
In a last year’s interview with Metal Injection, SLAYER guitarist Kerry King said that he doesn’t rule out the possibility of more SLAYER shows in the future beyond the three festival appearances previously announced.
“I’m trying to be real and definitely say, hey, we’re not gonna tour again,” he said. “And we’re certainly not gonna record again, ’cause I have a means of doing that now with my band. [We’re doing] three shows for now. And I say ‘for now’ because I know Europe’s gonna come knocking, ‘Hey, man, you guys played America. Come see us.’ So it wouldn’t surprise me if something like that happened, but it’s certainly not on my books right now.”
