Sadly, I never got to see Manilla Road live, and I kick myself for that, but this is amazing to watch. Makes me feel slightly better. We all miss you Mark The Shark!!
Pure genius
Manilla Road was by far my favorite local band when I was eighteen or nineteen years old. I'm 60 now!!! Guess I had an eye for talent. Wish I could have seen more of them over the years but I saw them a lot when they were first starting out. I remember getting their first album the day it came out. My favorite song was always "far side of the sun."

I've heard it argued that Manilla Road is America's greatest unknown metal band and I think I agree. Mark was absolutely ahead of his time as a guitar player, songwriter, etc and it's positively criminal how little credit he gets in the grand scheme of things but what's really interesting to me is how many extreme metal bands I listen to that were influenced by Manilla Road. A true metal band's metal band. As a native of his home state of Kansas, I can honestly say I'm proud to be from the same place this motherfucker was from.
