TIM LAMBESIS Faces Public Pressure As 68,000+ Sign Petition Alleging Animal Cruelty

Last fall’s leak of disturbing home surveillance videos brought AS I LAY DYING’s Tim Lambesis back into the public spotlight. These initial clips showed the infamous metalcore singer in a highly agitated state during heated exchanges with his then wife, exhibiting concerningly unstable behavior such as loudly repeating himself and physically hitting himself. Further footage leaked in January of this year revealed two separate instances of him being physically menacing and abusive towards his dog.

In response to the footage, a Care2 petition has been created with the aim of garnering enough public support to file a complaint with local authorities in California, where Lambesis resides. The petition, which seeks 70,000 signatures, has already gathered over 68,000 supporters as of press time.

The campaign on the site states: “The lead singer for a metalcore band served a prison sentence from 2014 to 2016 for hiring a hitman to kill his wife, from whom he was estranged. He was released on parole after being sentenced to six years in prison for his crime.

“Now, he’s on camera apparently beating, kicking, and hitting his dog in California.

“Sign the petition to demand justice and intensive psychological treatment!

“The frontman for band AS I LAY DYING was outside of his home when apparently he became overcome by rage and frustration and began violently wailing on his poor, trembling, frightened dog. It’s clear that this man’s violent tendencies didn’t decrease after his attempts to have his wife killed.

“Apparently the people around him know and understand that he’s a dangerous individual, to be avoided at all costs. Over the course of its existence, 15 musicians have joined and subsequently left the band. Recent individuals who left stated that remaining professionally entangled with the lead singer left them psychologically battered and tested their morals “to a breaking point.” As of now, the only member of his band at all… is him. No one else seems willing to work with him.

“It isn’t a huge surprise to learn that someone who’s been found guilty and convicted of domestic violence would now also be committing animal abuse. Studies have repeatedly found a connection between cruelty against animals, and cruelty against other humans.

“This man is clearly not safe around animals or people, and the only way to cure that is with dedicated psychotherapy treatment. Urge California authorities to mandate intensive mental health counseling for this individual!”

In 2013, Lambesis was arrested and convicted of soliciting a hitman to murder his estranged wife. After serving time in prison, he was released and reunited with his former bandmates to revive AS I LAY DYING.

However, the band has faced numerous lineup changes and internal turmoil. In 2022, several members departed, citing concerns about personal morals and integrity.

Lambesis, determined to keep the band alive, recruited new members and began booking shows for 2025. But that wouldn’t last, as just two month ago all members of AS I LAY DYING, including longtime guitarist Phil Sgrosso, parted ways with the band. Their statements made it evident that frontman TIM LAMBESIS was the central reason behind their exits.

This past November, disturbing videos surfaced online showing Lambesis in a highly agitated state. He has since issued a statement claiming that his wife, Dany, had abused him and that his reactions in the videos were a result of her actions. Lambesis also stated that he had filed a restraining order against her.

Following the controversy surrounding his band’s dissolution and his personal life, Tim Lambesis has recently given his first interview to Justin Wenzel, a personal branding expert and fitness coach, on Wenzel‘s podcast.

Lambesis admitted that his personal struggles, including anxiety, had significantly impacted his relationships with his bandmates, creating an insurmountable rift within the band. He said: “I chose to make it that way, but that was my own fault. It doesn’t have to be that way… living with a person in a bus and all that, I’m responsible for making sure that there is health in my own life and personal concern between the people I’m working with and I didn’t prioritize that enough.”

Lambesis further revealed that his marital dissatisfaction with Dany had been evident for at least a year.

“I think it just really comes down to the amount of anxiety I had on a relationship level, that I just carried on a regular basis, of like, not understanding,” Tim said. “I just don’t understand how you could be with a person and not be kind to them, and, like, really mess with my head to the point where I just would wake up with anxiety. I’d go to sleep with anxiety. And to me, being that version of myself, it was inevitable I was going to push everybody else away, right? Because how do you how do you connect with a person that’s drowning in anxiety constantly, but won’t talk to you about it?”
