SYBREED Announces Reissues, Streams Cover Of TEARS FOR FEARS’ “Shout”

Sybreed has been going hard on the reissues lately and they’re not stopping! Sybreed has now announced new CD and vinyl reissues of Antares, The Pulse Of Awakening, and God Is An Automaton coming on May 30. To celebrate, Sybreed is now streaming a newly-recorded cover of Tears For Fears‘ “Shout”, which they recorded back in 2022.

“We’ve always been fans of ’80s new wave, and that influence has consistently shaped the way we write music,” said Sybreed. “Back in 2005/2006, we played a cover of ‘Shout’ by Tears for Fears during our live shows, it really resonated with the audience and was a blast to perform. While an instrumental demo and a YouTube live recording existed, we never had a proper studio version.

“So, while preparing the reissues, we got together in 2022 at Drop‘s studio to finally record it properly. We decided to include it on The Pulse of Awakening reissue, as that album already features a cover of Killing Joke‘s ‘Love Like Blood’, another quintessential ’80s new wave hit.

“For the single’s B-side, we thought an EBM remix would be the perfect addition. Drop crafted it with one clear goal: getting people moving on the dancefloor at electrodark parties.”
