Former JUDAS PRIEST Drummer LES BINKS Has Died; Band Shares Tribute

Les Binks, former drummer of JUDAS PRIEST, has passed away at the age of 73.

The band shared the following statement on social media: ” We are deeply saddened about the passing of Les and send our love to his family, friends and fans.

“The acclaimed drumming he provided was first class — demonstrating his unique techniques, flair, style and precision.

“Thank you Les – your acclaim will live on…”

Binks was JUDAS PRIEST’s drummer from 1977 to 1979, performing on three releases: 1978’s Stained Class, 1979’s Hell Bent for Leather, and the live album Unleashed in the East, also released in 1979. He later reunited with former PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing, spending two years (2019–2021) behind the kit for DOWNING’s project, KK’S PRIEST.

In November 2022, Binks was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside several other past and present members of PRIEST.
