In 2008, Tobias Forge, known as Papa Emeritus in GHOST, recorded a solo album called Passiflora that remained unreleased.
For years, only two tracks, “House of Affection” and “In Enigma Schiffer,” were accessible, with a physical CD selling for whopping $5,434 in 2024.
Recently, a YouTube user uploaded 41 minutes of music, purportedly the full Passiflora album, featuring Forge‘s vocals, which you can listen below.
Although official verification is absent, the leaked recording suggests that it’s indeed Forge‘s Passiflora. The track titles align with the Discogs listing, and the vocals bear his unmistakable style and melodic sensibility.
Passiflora” emerged from a period of intense musical exploration for Tobias Forge, bridging the gap between his death metal roots in REPUGNANT and the rise of GHOST in 2010. This era saw him delve into diverse genres, resulting in projects like the atmospheric rock of MAGNA CARTA CARTEL and the post-punk sounds of SUBVISION.
