This is a video about the NKVD (People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs; later known as KGB), how they sentenced millions to be executed or sent to Siberia to labour camps. (Country in ruins after WW II, need work hands and need it FREE. In video slightly jump the shark.) "Bloody angel" is a NKVD officer who just approved one death of an serious "public enemy" after another.

And as Johannes said, ‘Bloody Angel’ is about shame and guilt. You look around and watch all the suffering and while you search for someone or something to blame, you end up in front of a mirror. Everything you touch, you break. Everyone you try to save you hurt and push further away. It is a sad reality of being alive, the fact that the closer you get, the more pain you risk inflicting. You try to stay in the light, spread your wings and aim for the sun. But your eyes and hands are covered in blood and you hit the ground, dragging everything that matters with you. The riff is pretty cool too."

Interesting fact: Johan Carlen was inspired by Dogville and Manderlаy by Lars von Trier when building the scenery for the clip. For the first time, the band shoots their play separately. Just on a black backdrop. Filmed at the beginning of April 2014, by the way.

I took this song seriously only when I met the band they mocked it and said it is just a joke! Stupid band! they have no idea who they are! ADIEU

I love this song but fuck the anticommunism in the video. The Soviet Bureaucracy schtick is an invention of western liberalism and most citizens of the Soviet Union were more likely to complain about the lack of leadership rather than an overabundance of it. Authoritarianism is an invention of the west, specifically the people leading the west into hell and their witless dregs whom we should be fighting against.
