A short cool and beautiful intro welcomes the fan to an album full of majestic guitar riffings embellish by a wondrous female voice. Be welcomed to a disturbing epic Old School Heavy Metal world where magic happens. I present you Black Sword Thunder Attack with their eponymous album “Black Sword Thunder Attack” a piece that takes Doom Metal to an epic place.
But what makes “Black Sword Thunder Attack” such a special album besides the fact Black Sword Thunder Attack are an alleged mysterious band that dwells in true mysticism, lyricism and mystery?
Well, first of all, the guitar riffing. The band managed to create guitar riffs that are true choruses and the fan can singalong them. All tracks here are absolutely fantastic with the gluey guitar riffs. Led Zeppelin were one of those bands, if I recall correctly. Second, the moody and mystique keyboard sound that gives all the tracks a beautiful, but yet strange cool mood. Third, the Iron Maiden inspired twin guitars that give the songs an agressive, but yet melodic verve. Last, but not least, Mareike’s velvet voice.
I don’t know if I got more addicted to the sound of the keyboards or to Mareike’s velvet voice embellished by the twin guitars. Black Sword Thunder Attack really knew how to create an album atmosphere that really gets the fan by the guts with inspired tunes that get stuck to the mind. It will take some albums to make me forget “Black Sword Thunder Attack.”
