Only a year ago, Bloodstain was just a group of friends rehearsing together at Rytmus Musikgymnasium in Stockholm. Now, they are preparing for their first-ever Sweden Rock Festival appearance, have signed a management and production deal with Entombed’s Alex Hellid, and are working on their highly anticipated debut album.
The speed of their rise has been nothing short of remarkable.
“We started this band because we love metal, but we never expected things to move this fast. It’s been unreal,” says Bloodstain guitarist Oskar Lindroos.
Bloodstain was formed in late 2023 by Linus Lindin (vocals/guitar), Oskar Lindroos (guitar), Jonathan Thyberg (bass), and Benjamin Norgren (drums)—four schoolmates who bonded over their love of old-school thrash metal. Inspired by Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and the raw energy of the Bay Area scene, they quickly developed their own sound: fast, aggressive, and uncompromising.
Just months after forming, Bloodstain entered the local music competition Lidingö Rock, where they delivered an electrifying performance that caught the attention of both fans and industry professionals. While the band placed second overall, they won the prestigious Best Guitarist award—an honor that, for the first time in the competition’s history, had to be shared between both guitarists because the jury couldn’t decide.
“That moment really showed us that we had something special. It wasn’t just about one of us—it was about how we played together as a unit,” recalls Lindin.
Determined to capitalize on their momentum, Bloodstain immediately entered the studio with producer Simon Johansson (Wolf, Soilwork) to record their debut EP, I Am Death. Released in March 2024, the EP quickly gained traction, fueled by word of mouth and relentless DIY promotion.
Within a few months, I Am Death surpassed 500,000 streams on Spotify, with the title track alone accumulating over 200,000 streams.
“We recorded that EP with everything we had—no big budget, no major label, just pure energy,” says bassist Jonathan Thyberg. “Seeing it take off the way it did made us realize that people actually wanted to hear what we had to say.”
The next milestone came in fall 2024, when Bloodstain was handpicked by Eradikated to join the Rising Four Tour, alongside Sarcator, Eternal Evil, and Eradikated. The tour that was sponsored by the Sweden Rock Festival and Republic 66, took Bloodstain across Sweden, exposing their music to new and dedicated audiences.
But the real turning point came when Entombed’s Alex Hellid attended their Stockholm show at Debaser.
“When I saw Bloodstain live, I got that same feeling I had when I was young—pure, unfiltered energy. They reminded me why I got into metal in the first place,” says Hellid.
Shortly after, Hellid and his team at Threeman Recordings signed Bloodstain to a management and production deal, marking a major step in the band’s career.
“Bloodstain have the raw energy and ambition that makes things happen. With our Threeman team behind them, it’ll be exciting to see what we can build together.” – Alex Hellid
Following the success of I Am Death, Bloodstain is now preparing to release their highly anticipated debut album, set to drop in late 2025 via Threeman Recordings.
“This album is everything we’ve been working toward. It’s heavy, it’s intense, and it’s exactly the record we wanted to make,” says guitarist/vocalist Linus Lindin.
Produced by Alex Hellid (Entombed), with co-production by Stefan Norgren (Sorcerer/Seventh Wonder), recorded by Simon Johansson (Soilworks, Wolf) at Solna Sound, and mixing/mastering by Ronnie Björnström (Björnström Sound, Sundsvall), the album is set to deliver a modern, uncompromising sound that blends thrash aggression with razor-sharp precision.
“We wanted to capture the energy of our live shows in the studio. Every riff, every scream, every drum hit—it’s all been pushed to the edge,” says guitarist Oskar Lindroos.
With Sweden Rock Festival on June 6 marking their biggest live appearance to date, Bloodstain is on the verge of something huge. Their debut album is set to be the defining moment that propels them onto the international metal stage.
“This record is our statement to the world—this is Bloodstain, and we’re just getting started,” says drummer Benjamin Norgren.
The album will be available in multiple formats, including vinyl, digital, and streaming platforms, with pre-orders launching soon. More details, including tracklist and cover art, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Before the full album arrives, Bloodstain will unleash the first single, “Lies Bleeding Through”, on April 18, 2025.
The track is a six-minute mega-metal tour de force, packed with blistering riffs, punishing drums, and soaring vocals that cement Bloodstain’s place among metal’s most exciting new acts.
“‘Lies Bleeding Through’ is everything we love about metal—raw energy, aggression, and melody. It’s the sound of a band pushing itself to the limit,” says guitarist Oskar Lindroos.
“This song came together in the chaos of writing and rehearsing for the album. It’s a track that demanded everything from us,” adds bassist Jonathan Thyberg.
