LYRICS:
I woke up in a warehouse
But the label had fell off
Just minding my own meltdown
It was then I heard the cannibals, cannibals
They said hey kid..
You got that something special
(It’s now or never)
You wanna live forever
(It’s now or never)
You know what we want you should give it to us
(It’s now or never)
But there’s no pressure
And I keep picking petals,
I’m afraid you don’t love me anymore
cos a kid on the gram
In a black dahlia tank
Says it ain’t heavy metal
I tried to do a headcount
But I cut off all the crusts
Said they liked it better curly
Then they gut me like an animal
They said hey man
You had that something special
(It’s now or never)
Let’s keep it quintessential
(It’s now or never)
You know what we want why not give it to us
(It’s now or never)
But there’s no pressure
So I keep picking petals
I’m afraid they don’t love me anymore
Cos some kid on the gram
In a black dahlia tank
Says it ain’t heavy metal
Yeah I keep picking petals
Got my heart and my head all in the wars
Cos some kid from A n R
in a Patagonia
Said he don’t really get it
So I keep picking petals
All I wanna know do you love me anymore
Cos some kid on the gram says he used to be fan
But this shit ain’t heavy metal
No it ain’t heavy metal

Man why do people have to be shitty humans. Listen we all evolve as people and the music industry is no different. Artist change and grow (hopefully) and their music should be a reflection of what THEY want not what WE want. Write and play the music that make you happy and your fans will find you. Maybe lose some but gain more. We as a society need to hear what olie is saying in their newer music. We have a lot of people that struggle with addiction and mental health issues.
You want heavy metal so bad go listen to Lorna Shore lol they’ll give ya heavy.
That beatbox sounds good btw…
Why did BMTH make crap for ten years? Was it really necessary to kick Fish out in order to start making cool deathcore again?
This chorus goes so hard
This is still the biggest fuck you and I love it haha
I came from a fanfic and it makes sense lol
next time.. present my sister first.. or annyway stay away all off you.
He had us in the first half not gonna lie
What is a patagonia? XD
BMTHs new music isn’t the worst thing ever but their attitude about it is. Simple fact is, A lot of people who like metal don’t like pop or rap and vice versa. when any musician changes their entire genre, they should expect to lose at least a portion of their fan base and gain a new one. It’s not a big deal, and It’s not warranted dissing everybody who made them money in the first place and literally got them where they are over not liking a genre. It’s actually extremely ungrateful. Oliver acts like a child over people not enjoying every single thing he makes. You’re an artist. People will like some stuff you do and not other stuff. Nobody needs to feel bad about it.
I like how Oli went back to metal in some Post Human songs. It's probally not the kind of metal the kid on the gram wanted, but better than nothing I guess.
Why would anyone hate the band for doing different genres, or for mixing different genres like BMTH do? I mean, it only goes to show how talented and versatile they are… Plus, this song is a proper banger 🙂
Im drunk and still feels food right now
Idc if this shit ain't heavy metal i fking love it
We need this performed in live
❤
Comedy metal. 😅😅😅. That damn kid.
❤❤
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
Where were you when a kid on the gram in a black dahlia tank said it aint heavy metal?
Best song on the record
This was simply the greatest return in history to me. This album defined a lot of highschool for me. This song is by far my favorite from the album, and the biggest and greatest fuck you I can think of. So well constructed and thought out in every way. The scream will forever give me chills especially with all of the surrounding context
Once you've got a theory of how the thing works, everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first.
I love how bmth fans when this released thought that this was how the would be forever, id love to see their reaction when post human: survival horror came out
Wow, its been 6 years and i still use this song as my prime example of an artist being frustrated with its consumers (the larger portion being fairweather fans or non fans) not accepting the artist's freedom of expression and the consumers demand for a specified expected product. This song changed how i view art and artists six years ago and its still shakes me to my bitter angry core every time I hear it. I scream along every time and I cannot express how much I love and appreciate this song.
Anyone here 2025.??😊
Some dude on reddit actualy told me that this song is a slap to the face to every oldschool BMTH fan and that they hate their fans while also having spent according to him 12k on merch xD im crying 😂😂 love you guys for this
