BURNING WITCHES guitarist and founding member Romana Kalkuhl has officially announced she’ll be stepping away from the band for a period of maternity leave.
Band announced the news in a statement, writing: “We are super thrilled to announce you that our Queen of Riffs, the keeper of the coven and the heart of the Band, Romana is expecting a Baby this Autumn.
“Let us congratulate her for her success in stepping into the world of motherhood.
“She will still be playing for our 10th Year Anniversary Shows at Estrich Winistorf and Met-Bar Lenzburg. She will be BACK as soon as she can and will always be READY TO FIGHT!!! So, no worries Folks!
“In the meantime, we are excited to welcome our longtime friend and amazing guitarist, Simone Van Straten, who will temporarily step in to cover Romana’s duties. Simone will join us for all upcoming shows and tours until Romana is ready to return.”
BURNING WITCHES‘ latest studio album, The Dark Tower, was released in May 2023 via Napalm Records.
