CEMETERY HORIZON (MEMBERS OF DARK TRANQUILLITY, INSOMNIUM, AMORPHIS & DIMMU BORGIR) Unveil Fresh Track "The Coldest Heart"

Date:

Cemetery Horizon is a newly established group, featuring renowned figures of European metal: Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, Grand Cadaver on vocals, Markus Vanhala of Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum, I Am The Night Horde on guitars, Santeri Kallio from Amorphis on keyboards, Victor Brandt of Dimmu Borgir, Witchery, former member of Entombed, Satyricon on bass and Vesa Ranta known from Sentenced, The Abbey on drums.

Today, we are presented with another track from their upcoming debut album, a dark piece titled “The Coldest Heart” drawing influences from Tiamat and Type O Negative.

Mikael Stanne shared insights about the song’s lyrics: “This track delves into the never-ending craving for approval and misguided despair. It reflects some intense moments I encountered lately that led to confinement. It articulates its somber essence in all its desolate beauty.”

Markus Vanhala added further: “‘The Coldest Heart’ stands out as one of the initial compositions crafted for Cemetery Horizon, serving as a clear homage to ‘The Green Man’, but with a refined approach. It emerges as a powerful piece for a melancholic summer anthem in 2024.”

Cemetery Horizon. An ensemble emerging from the endless summer nights of Scandinavia. Originating at some point in 2020, with the vision of producing timeless dark music to honor the prominent influences of our era,” previously expressed the band.

“This collaborative effort from the Nordic region was conceived to pioneer a unique sound unlike any the band members have explored before. It presents a distinctive blend of intense riffs and emotions encapsulated in a brooding and profound artistic setting. It could be labelled as gothic rock, dark rock, or even heavy metal. For us, it’s simply Nordic Gothic.”

Cemetery Horizon is set for their live debut at the John Smith Rock Festival in Laukaa, Finland on August 18-20, 2024.
