Pittsburgh, PA – April 22, 2025 — Love and brutality collided in the most unforgettable way as a local couple tied the knot in the middle of a mosh pit at a CANNIBAL CORPSE concert, turning a night of headbanging into a lifelong memory. Amid the pulverizing riffs and guttural roars of the death metal legends performing “Unleashing the Bloodthirsty,” Erica and Christopher said “I do” in front of a sea of fellow metalheads at Stage AE.
The event, affectionately dubbed “Corrupted Nuptials,” was as chaotic as it was heartfelt. Fans moshed in a swirling vortex of denim, leather, and flying limbs while the couple stood firm in the eye of the storm, surrounded by chosen witnesses from the pit. A circle opened up, not for a wall of death—but for a declaration of undying love.
“Well we did it!” Erica posted Facebook. “Last night during the @cannibalcorpseofficial show in Pittsburgh we said our ‘I dos’ in the mosh pit! There is no community more united than the metal community!! The amount of support and love was amazing!”
Erica extended thanks to several individuals who helped make the unconventional wedding possible, including @docshow73 who officiated, @byoungokr as the ring bearer, and @hillenkp who safeguarded the marriage certificate. Special mention was given to the band’s bassist, Alex Webster. “Thank you to Barry Mull for introducing us to Webster! Thank you to Webster and every other metal head I could find for signing our marriage Certificate!!” Erica wrote. “This could not have been more perfect!”
The Pittsburgh performance was one of the final dates on the band’s North American tour, a sonic onslaught that began March 28 in Quebec City. CANNIBAL CORPSE has been leveling venues across the continent alongside CARCASS and headliners MESHUGGAH, who are currently touring in support of their acclaimed album Immutable.
