Slipknot unveiled a handful of limited edition merchandise yesterday, including one shirt that’s seemingly pissing off quite a few fans. The shirt in question has the band’s name on the front and then a revamped “S” logo on the back that looks more like a disfigured paperclip than anything else. Some comments illustrating said “pissed-off-ness” on the Slipknot Instagram include:
- “Tell clown to step away from Photoshop”
- “This merch line ain’t it bruh”
- “Do NOT change the S design to that please”
- “Oh god don’t change the S please, this new one s*cks, sorry love you guys”
- “What the fuck with the new S absolutely not”
You get the idea – people don’t like it. And I get where they’re coming from, as I’m not super into it either. But all the cries over the “new logo” seem a little ridiculous, as the rest of the line has Slipknot‘s classic “S” logo. So it’s not like they rolled out a whole new merch line that was clearly the start of a rebrand.
