Dread Majesty – the mysterious metal unit from Colorado – is now streaming their new single “Our Wills Shall Never Weaken”, or one half of their upcoming double single Our Wills due out February 28. “Our Wills Shall Never Weaken” is a great mix of crushing heaviness, operatic vocals, and progressive tendencies that encompass one hell of a track.
“There are moments in history, both written and unwritten, where tyranny rises, empires rot from within, and the wretched kings of the world become specters of their own corruption,” wrote Dread Majesty of the single.
“They have built their towers high, carved their image into the mountains, and forged their thrones on the backs of the faithful. They preach obedience with the weight of the whip. They scribe their laws in blood and dare to deem it justice. They direct us to surrender, to kneel, to lie down on the tracks, and wait for the locomotion of history to crush our identities to dust.
“But our wills shall never weaken. This is not just a song. It is a vow. A vow sealed and sung from the chests and throats of the unbroken. ‘Do your worst to me,’ this song dares. Because the worst has already been wrought.”
