EVANESCENCE Streams New Single “Afterlife” From Netflix’s Devil May Cry

Evanescence is now streaming their new single “Afterlife” in tandem with Netflix’s new animated series Devil May Cry. The song was written by Alex “Mako” Seaver and Evanescence‘s Amy Lee, and was co-produced by Nick Raskulinecz and Seaver.

You can check it out below alongside a Devil May Cry lyric video. Better yet, “Afterlife” will also be released as an alternate version in the show itself, plus it’ll hit all streaming services on April 3. So y’know, Evanescence and Netflix are really going for the long roll-out on this one.

As for Devil May Cry, it’s shaping up to be pretty nü-metal seeing as it includes Limp Bizkit‘s “Rollin'” as the theme song and Papa Roach‘s “Last Resort” in a recent trailer. Devil May Cry is based on the video game series of the same name developed by Capcom and created by Hideki Kamiya, while the show itself was created by Adi Shankar and produced by Studio Mir. Devil May Cry is set to begin streaming on April 3 on Netflix.

As far as a show description, Nexflix has described it as such: “Sinister forces are at play at the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter for hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
