Former CRYPTA guitarist Jéssica di Falchi might have moved on from the Brazilian death metal powerhouse, but she’s proving that her journey in the world of heavy music is far from over. Over the weekend, di Falchi took center stage in one of the most unexpected and electrifying moments of Lollapalooza Brasil 2024, joining progressive metal giants TOOL for a jaw-dropping solo on their track “Jambi.”
Set list for the show was as follows:
- “Fear Inoculum”
- “Jambi” (with Jéssica di Falchi)
- “Stinkfist”
- “Rosetta Stoned”
- “Pneuma”
- “The Grudge”
- “Parabol”
- “Parabola”
- “Schism”
- “Ænema”
- “Flood”
Despite recent fan criticism stemming from their “Tool Live In The Sand” festival, TOOL commenced their Latin American tour on March 15th with a performance at Explanada del Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
The recent “Tool In The Sand” festival, held in the picturesque setting of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, has become the focal point of significant discontent among dedicated TOOL fans. What was intended to be a luxurious, exclusive experience has instead sparked the potential for legal action.
Despite the premium pricing associated with the destination festival, which included travel and accommodation, TOOL presented remarkably similar setlists on both nights. Notably, they played the same four songs – “Fear Inoculum,” “Rosetta Stoned,” “Pneuma,” and “Jambi” – during both performances. This lack of variation, particularly in a festival setting where attendees expect diverse sets, triggered widespread disappointment.
Stas Rusek, an attorney from Augusta, GA, and a long-time TOOL fan, is pursuing a class-action lawsuit against the band, claiming they did not provide the “two unique sets” advertised for their “Live In The Sand” festival.
To build his case, Rusek advertised on social media, attempting to recruit dissatisfied festival attendees. It’s unclear if he’s garnered sufficient support to proceed with legal action.
