FIELDY Says He Has No Plans To Rejoin KORN For Now

KORN fans hoping for a full reunion with longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu may need to keep waiting. In a recent appearance on The Dr. Greenthumb Show, Fieldy addressed the question directly and, while he didn’t slam the door shut, he made it clear that he won’t be rejoining the nu-metal pioneers anytime soon.

“I won’t be playing any shows, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings,” Fieldy said in response to a fan’s inquiry about his return. “You never know. But for now, no. I’ve got plenty to do.”

Fieldy officially stepped away from KORN in 2021, citing personal reasons and the need to take some time off. Despite his physical absence from the band, he still played bass on KORN’s 2022 album Requiem. For live performances and touring duties, SUICIDAL TENDENCIESRa Díaz has been holding down the low end, keeping the band’s momentum going without interruption.

In a prior interview this year with Basement Talk, Fieldy revealed he hadn’t spoken with his Korn bandmates since 2019—surprisingly, two years before his public announcement to step back. “They’re truckin’. They’re a machine. They’re going,” he said at the time. “It’s insane. It’s dope that they can keep on going like that. It’s cool to see them keep on going, but I need to chill.”

The ambiguity around Fieldy’s long-term status with KORN leaves plenty of room for speculation. While he’s expressed admiration for his former band’s continued success, his remarks suggest a desire to focus on personal matters and possibly other creative outlets. Meanwhile, KORN has shown no signs of slowing down, continuing to tour and remain active without their founding bassist.

Still, Fieldy’s signature clanky, percussive bass tone is woven into the sonic DNA of Korn. Since the band’s debut in 1994, his unique style has been both influential and polarizing—revered by many fans and musicians for its raw edge and groove.

The big question looming now is what happens when KORN begins work on their next studio album. Will Fieldy be involved in the writing or recording process? Or will Ra Díaz step in more permanently?

For now, all signs point to a continued hiatus. Whether that’s temporary or permanent remains to be seen. Fieldy may not be onstage with KORN, but his presence in the band’s legacy is undeniable—and his potential return, however unlikely at the moment, is something fans will continue to hope for.
