All HD2 satire and such aside, 'Now I see freedom begins with me' is actually so good, it's like a realization, like the kinda thing that would be on posters and such to remind people they CAN change things for the better even if they feel it's hopeless

I found Meridia by sheer accident when looking through the planets as a new player. I had no idea what transpired but it felt big. Seeing the aftermath and hearing the echoes of a great battle fought before I started is so fucking cool and solidifies Helldivers 2 as GOTY for me. Even with Sonic X Shadow Generations and Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO coming out, I don't care. Game of the fucking Year.

But really, if the Arrowhead devs have done anything right after Helldivers 2 1.0 it's the Meridian Black Hole. Flying to that thing in the SES Patriot of Audacity accidently was up there as far as visual spectacles in video games
