Implant Pentru Refuz |
Main interview pic by Miluta Flueras
With 2023 picking Timisoara as an European Capital of Culture and this being the city where I spend most of my time in, I decided to highlight four of our most significant metal exports in a series of interviews, ones that would focus on both the bands themselves and on the scene as a whole; and as we can see, barely managing to sneak their publishing while the year is still ongoing.
Out of all the interviewed bands for this series, Implant Pentru Refuz is probably the one that’s least familiar to our readers. Being a more punk/alternative band rather than a metal one is one thing, and also their appeal seems to be mostly but not entirely limited to our borders. But within those borders, Implant Pentru Refuz is an omnipresent live band, one that has been around for nearly three decades, and a staple within their own sound. I wanted to talk a bit about how Timisoara was like when the band started as well as thoughts on why some bands don’t get to appeal beyond their borders.
