JINJER’s TATIANA SHMAILYUK Talks About Fresh Album: “It Carries This Taste Of 19th Century” Music

Date:

Jinjer is presently in the process of crafting the successor to their 2021 release Wallflowers. The group intends to present some fresh tracks during their upcoming tour with Hanabie and Born Of Osiris (including the Metal Injection festival this September), but what will it resonate as?

As per Jinjer frontwoman Tatiana Shmailyuk in a conversation with Knotfest’s She’s With The Band, it will have a very classic essence. Think, “century-old” classic.

“It’s going to differ in a notable way, primarily because I feel the music is quite distinct. And in my view, the entirety — I won’t reveal the exact number of songs; perhaps 12 or maybe even 15; let’s say 13; I am unsure — but a significant portion of them, at least, possess a common thread,” expressed Shmailyuk. “They share similarities or evoke a certain feeling. They possess a unified concept, even without any lyrics, they seem to be part of a cohesive collection of songs.

“I am already contemplating all the details… I am not just considering the lyrics — I am contemplating the themes and such, but I am imaging the artwork or the cover art or even the music videos and what attire I will showcase there. And it has a particular essence, to me that… I sense it embodies the essence of the 19th century. It resonates with Romanticism from the 19th century. Upon listening, you may think, ‘Ah.’ You know, when you hear Muse, you sense he was influenced by numerous classical composers — evidently. Therefore, our new music carries this tone. And I am highly thrilled.”

Jinjer will embark on a journey this September and October throughout North America along with Hanabie and Born Of Osiris. Tickets for the tour are accessible here.

Regarding the tour itself and their aim to introduce some novel compositions, Jinjer shared: “It is finally time for some significant declarations: We are ecstatic to announce that this September, Jinjer will venture back to North America with not just one but two exceptionally remarkable supporting acts: Hanabie and Born Of Osiris!” conveyed Jinjer.
