One of the biggest festivals of the year just announced its first round of confirmed acts, as organizers behind next year’s Download XXII revealed that the event’s three headliners will be Korn, Sleep Token, and Green Day. (One of these things is not like the other…)
In addition to the names at the top of the bill, organizers released the names of more than 90 confirmed bands set to take the s tage for the festival’s 22nd iteration, which will again take place in Donington Park, Leicestershire from June 13 to June 15, 2025.
And while the aforementioned headliners might be a surprise to most, that’s actually by design, as organizers pointed out that none of the three have ever been at the top of the main stage’s bill for Download. Organizers said this was an “exciting milestone [that] underscores Download’s unwavering commitment to delivering a fresh, groundbreaking lineup year after year.”
When you look at past years’ lineups and see bands like Slipknot, Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden and the like consistently headlining, it really does put into perspective how unique Korn, Sleep Token, and Green Day really are for the festival’s chosen showcase acts.
