NERGAL Explains How He Came Up With The Title ‘Christ Is Cringe’ For New BEHEMOTH T-Shirt Design

Behemoth Christ Is Cringe

In a recent statement, BEHEMOTH frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski explained the inspiration behind the band’s new t-shirt “Christ is Cringe.”

He wrote in a social media post: “I would have never come up with this title myself—my adversaries handed it to me. When we released the teasers and BEHEMOTH‘s latest video, ‘The S**t of God,’ our social media got flooded with ‘Christ is King’ comments. ‘Christ is Cringe’ is merely a reworking of a slogan they introduced, our response to their all-too-brief surge of faith

However, not everyone is impressed, with some fans arguing that the band’s attempts at provocation have become more lame than rebellious.

Some of the fans’ responds were: “This shirt is honestly pretty cringe”

BEHEMOTH has turned in a very childish band and that is truly cringe,” another one wrote.

One more comments says: “What’s cringe is 50 year old men having the personality of a 16 year old edge lord.”

The T-shirt in question is no longer available on BEHEMOTH‘s webstore, as it appears to have been available only for 24 hours.

BEHEMOTH recently announced their new studio album, The S**t Ov God, set for May 9 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

Nergal said about the album: “I have reached a point in the journey of BEHEMOTH and my own creativity where words and explanations have less and less meaning. The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sound, our performances and in the way we connect with you. I deeply believe that Behemoth embodies transcendent, timeless art. The number thirteen – so magical and meaningful. If this is our last album, I could walk away with pride. Without a doubt, this is the purest and clearest representation of BEHEMOTH. No filler, no superfluity – just the best we have to offer, for you. Hail Satan”
