Hello, and welcome to another episode of “Oceano‘s can’t just break up without there being even more drama, huh?” It all started when Oceano revealed they’d sadly be coming to an end in 2025 in the wake of some drama regarding their plans to tour with Attila and Dealer.
Oceano then announced a farewell tour for this May with I Declare War, See You Next Tuesday, Filth, BackBiter. Unfortunately that tour immediately came under fire after Oceano was accused by artist Chris Gallien of stealing their final show tour poster from concepts presented by Gallien to the band.
Now two things have happened – one, Oceano has disappeared from social media (see screenshots below). Their Instagram has been set to private and all posts after 2018 have been deleted from their Facebook. This includes the announcement of their farewell tour, which who even knows if that’s happening now.
Two, See You Next Tuesday has dropped off the farewell tour citing their personal issues with Oceano allegedly stealing the admat art. Oceano has not commented on the tour just yet, but how could they? All their socials are gone.
“Half of See You Next Tuesday‘s members are visual artists and rely on art as their sole income,” wrote See You Next Tuesday. “Given the current tour poster situation, it has presented a huge dilemma for us, challenging our morality and standards as artists. We stand against things like AI stealing art from hardworking artists for the profit of the less creative, with zero recognition to the original artists.
“This may seem like a minor problem to people outside of the art world, but it is seriously damaging to the livelihoods of artists who use their art to support themselves and their families. This situation between Oceano and the original artist of the tour poster, Chris Gallien, although a different type of situation, awkwardly aligns itself with the same reasons we despise AI.
“In the end, we as a band have decided we are not comfortable with the current situation and will no longer be part of this tour.
“We would like to apologize to everyone who worked on making the tour happen for us and anyone who was looking forward to seeing us live. Lastly, we hope a positive resolution can be reached between all other parties involved.”
