OZZY OSBOURNE Is Doing Endurance Training To Prep For His Final Show

Ozzy Osbourne has his final show ever coming up on July 5, and he’s taking it very seriously. In a new interview with SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard, Osbourne revealed, he’s been doing “heavy training” for the show and notes that he hasn’t “done anything for, this will be seven years, and so I’ve been through all this surgery. It really is like starting from scratch.”

Osbourne continued: “Well, it’s endurance training. The first thing to go when you’re laid up is your stamina, so believe it or so, I’m doing two sets of three-minute walks and weight training. I’m going and going you know.

“I’m waking up in my body, you know. I mean, three minutes to you, for instance, is nothing, but I’ve been laying on my back recovering from umpteen surgeries.”

Osbourne will play his final show both as a solo act and with Black Sabbath come July 5 in Birmingham, England. Though it’s not clear how much of the show Osbourne will even play, given he’s been dealing with worsening Parkinson’s Disease and suffering from complications due to longstanding injuries since 2019.

Frequent Osbourne producer Andrew Watt also mentioned in recent interview with The Howard Stern Show that Ozzy‘s been in the gym. Sadly Osbourne recently revealed that he can’t even walk anymore due to Parkinson’s, so this feels more like mitigation in the short term sadly.

“He’s okay. It’s just his body is not doing what he wants it to do all the time,” said Watt. “But I talked to him a couple days ago, and he’s, like, starting to get in the gym again a little bit by little, get himself ready for this last concert. He is the real-life Iron Man. And nothing has happened to his voice — his voice is as good as it has ever been.”

All of this is to say that I hope Osbourne can make this show and sing some songs. I genuinely do, for myself and for every metal fan out there. It would be a highly emotional send-off for a man that has been vital to the existence of the genre we all love.
