Let’s get real – Roger Waters has a reputation for being blunt in interviews, and he didn’t disappoint during an August 12 interview with The Independent Ink. Just a few weeks after Ozzy Osbourne‘s passing, Waters shared his candid thoughts about the legendary musician.
The conversation started with Waters discussing how the media focuses on celebrity news rather than politics, specifically Jeremy Corbyn‘s policies. However, it took a turn when he expressed his disdain for Ozzy Osbourne, saying, “In whatever state he was in his whole life, we’ll never know, although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense.” Waters didn’t mince words, making his feelings about Ozzy and his music clear.
“The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a fuck. I don’t care about Black Sabbath. I never did. I have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know,” Waters stated.
In response to Waters’ comments, the Osbourne family has released a new shirt featuring Ozzy taking a rainbow-colored leak on Pink Floyd‘s iconic The Wall album cover. The back of the shirt reads “OZZY RULES” below Waters‘ name, leaving no doubt about their feelings. You can get the shirt here.
Ozzy‘s son, Jack Osbourne, also fired back at Waters, saying, “Hey Roger Waters. Fuck You. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bullshit in the press. My father always thought you were a cunt – thanks for proving him right.”
