PARADISE LOST’s First Album Since 2020 Likely Due Out This Fall

Paradise Lost hasn’t put out a record since Obsidian in 2020, but it’s not like the band’s members have been sitting around doing nothing. Vocalist Nick Holmes got busy with Bloodbath and his other band Host, while guitarist Gregor Mackintosh was doing the same with Host and even put out a record and an EP with his project Strigoi – which I might add also features new Paradise Lost drummer Guido Zima.

So now five years later, and things have come back around to Paradise Lost. In an interview with Chile’s PowerOfMetal.cl, Holmes revealed that the band’s new record is nearly done and should hopefully be out either this September or October.

“Yeah. It’s already halfway recorded,” said Holmes. “Next week I go to Sweden to finish off recording vocals, and then we mix it and master it and then we give it to the label. And I think it’s coming out, like, September time. So, yeah, it’s almost finished. It’s been the longest time we’ve ever had between albums. But that’s kind of because of the pandemic as well… So shit happens. And, yeah, hopefully it’ll come out September, October time this year.”

Paradise Lost recently announced their The Devil Embraced mini-US tour for this May. All dates take place between Paradise Lost‘s sets at Milwaukee Metal Fest and Maryland Deathfest, and feature either Gigan or Trouble as the openers. Tickets are available here.

“We never get to play America as much as we would like to so it’s always great to get the opportunity to return,” said Paradise Lost of the trek. “We are all really looking forward to playing these shows, and hope to see you all there.”
