Lyrics
Couldn’t call back
My desire
Climbed the seawall
To discover
That my world is small
And your words are cruel
A tsunami in a tide pool
Would’ve lived for you
Would’ve died for you
With the tide out
I will wait for
Broken bottles
That I covet
I attach them
To my body
A distraction in the current
If I take enough
They weigh me down
To loosen my grip on you
On an island
With a clear view
Would’ve lived for you, would’ve died
Down in the deep end
I couldn’t see straight
I shouldn’t be here
Watching the world fade
Wind on the current
Carried the wrong way
Down in the deep end
Lost in my own waves
You’re an island
With a clear view
I’m a tidal wave
Pull me back to you
I would die
I would die
Down in the deep end
I couldn’t see straight
I shouldn’t be here
Watching the world fade
Wind on the current
Carried the wrong way
Down in the deep end
Lost in my own waves

I think this song is my favorite from the album, Keep Sweet is a close second but this one just hits so much better for me. 10/10 album though can't wait to listen to it for months

This whole album has been such a comfort for me right now. Every song gets played every time; absolute perfection. The lyrics and music set the stage all on their own. I don't have a single Spiritbox song I don't like, and that continues with this album. Great work to everyone involved. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to see you all live.

If only many people knew who this song is dedicated to would hit them as hard as "Constance."

Sonically, this is "Too Close/Too Late," but there's new elements added to stand on its own.

It feels like if Taylor Swift had a 7-string in her hands. <3

Courtney LaPlante explains her connection to the song in an interview with Metal Hammer:

"We wrote “Deep End” before Bill passed, but that song now, to me, is my beacon to him."

On my copy of the album, the last page on the liner notes/booklet says, "Dedicated to Bill Crook" 😢

The one reminds me so much of A Sad Cartoon by Loathe in its melody, and maybe another song I can't quite put my finger on, on the edge of my mind (maybe a song by Make Them Suffer or Periphery?).

This feels like it belongs on the ending scene of a movie. There's this intense feeling of CLOSURE of a cycle, a bittersweet ending. Almost like the movie didn't have a happy ever after, but sent us off on a believable high note that only life could give us.

Reading the comments after hearing the song 1000 times and knowing now that this one goes for Bill just makes much more sense and warms my heart. The songs that Spiritbox dedicates to someone show so much versatility and the purest of feelings.

Rip Bill, thank you for Spiritbox!

    2:12 the lines

    "You’re an island
    With a clear view
    I’m a tidal wave
    Pull me back to you
    I would die"

it brings tears to me, i interpret it as, no matter where a wave is taken, it still gets pulled back to the shore, to an island with clear view, even though it tends to die there, it would still be pulled, this is a love song, just beautiful 🥹 wow  @SpiritboxOfficial

That song has a ton of alternative/pop punk energy. I can hear some newer Blink, ADTR, older Paramore, Story of the Year for the ending. Big nostalgic vibes

This song is SO Coheed and Cambria influenced – wow. That cruise tour must have meant a lot to them, as the influence is as clear as day. What an amazing song and album.

This song just makes me well up with tears. I don’t know why, but it just gives me this overwhelming feeling of melancholy and hope at the same time, like no matter what storms I go through, everything is going to be okay. 🖤

Que gran estilo el de ésta banda, me regresa a los años 2000 cuándo sonaba Evanences, linkin Park, Good Charlotte, System, Fallout Boy, Korn, tienen un toque de de éstos grupos.
