Sublind – Metalmorphosis Review

I will not deny that’s exactly the way I like my Thrash Metal as Sublind did with “Metalmorphosis.” Fast. Nervous. Full of rage and anger. With that sonic fierceness we all love. Album welcomer “Thrash It” made me remember one the great Nuclear Assault, one of the best Thrash Metal bands I have ever heard. There is nothing better than the sonic avalanche the band delivers here for the frentic Thrash Metal fans. Moreover, and better yet, there are some subliminal messages under the sonic wall the band built. “We wanna it the louder than hell!”

“Metalmorphosis” is an album with roaring guitars whose extreme distortion buzzes in the ears of the fan. Add to that a drumming that sounds as a sonic avalanche with the thunders that come from the bass. To end the recipe for a musical disaster – in the good Metal sense – a vocalist that uses his throat as if there is no future. “Thrash It” delivers fast as hell guitar riffs with an incredible speed-of-the-light drumming. It is the perfect track to open any Thrash Metal album. Its ferocity can be felt many miles away. It explores the most nervous side of Metal music with all the references Hardcore lended Metal music. A great starter. Then comes “Revolution Execution” with a more cadenced rhythm and does a general cooling down. Tittle track “Metalmorphosis” comes with a fine double bass drumming work that gives the impression it is going to cool down a little bit more, but, in a sudden, all hell break loose and the musical spanking commences. It is the song that gives Sublind their signature. The grand finale is the fast as heel guitar riffing “Thrashing Delirium” with an insane drumming.

As an album, “Metalmorphosis” gives me hope. The hope that a Thrash Metal album will not let thrash metallers cool down not even a little bit. It is a lesson of how to thrash with all the strength and rage possible in this sad and lonely and pathetic little planet.

Sublind “Metalmorphosis” will be released on February 14th.
