THE AUSTERITY PROGRAM Returns After Six Years With Bible Songs 2 & New, Noisy Single

The Austerity Program is back with their first new EP in six years, Bible Songs 2. Which is perfect timing considering the Pope just died. Are these two things related? Who knows!

Anyway, The Austerity Program. They’re a noise rock duo armed with a drum machine, and they’re streaming the equally noisy new single “Joshua 7:6–26” right now. It’s gonna beat your ass into the New York City pavement something fierce.

“This was the first song we started playing live from this record, which is too bad,” wrote The Austerity Program‘s Justin Foley of the single. “Too bad because it’s more fun to play than the rest of the songs, which means we peaked early. We’d explain what the lyrics are about, but that’s kinda why we made the video.”

On the video, Foley added: “Never underestimate what you can do with image search, iMovie, and a warped sense of ‘wouldn’t it be cool if…’ We’d also like to thank all of the stock footage models who appear briefly here, and apologize in advance if any of them are extremely religious and offended that we’ve included them in this video.”

Pre-orders for Bible Songs 2 are available here (and here on Bandcamp).
