Not all episodes of the second season have been released yet. So far, five of the eight episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2 are available on Prime Video, with new episodes coming out every Thursday until October 3rd. However, a trend is already emerging: the viewership numbers for the new season seem to be trailing behind those of the first. However, this doesn’t mean the series is being ignored. In the first two weeks, the first three episodes were streamed an impressive 40 million times.
Upcoming Episodes:
- Episode 6: September 19
- Episode 7: September 26
- Episode 8: October 3 (Season Finale)
What About Season 3?
Even though the second season has not reached the peak levels of the first, the series is still holding its ground in the top 5 of the Prime Video charts. This is a success, especially considering that many fans of the original “Lord of the Rings” films and J.R.R. Tolkien’s books were initially skeptical about this adaptation.
The future of the series seems secure, as Amazon has already begun production on the third season, with a fourth and fifth season also in the works. Of course, it remains to be seen how the viewership numbers will develop. In the meantime, we have three more episodes to look forward to, which are sure to hold one or two surprises.
