TOOL’s “Sober” Reimagined as a Deathcore Track

Backbiter has presented their deathcore rendition of Tool‘s “Sober” and it’s quite intriguing! The band skillfully emphasizes the heaviness of the original guitar riff, and the breakdown towards the conclusion adds a nice twist!

One aspect that may not fully connect is the vocals. It’s not about their delivery – the harsh growls and vocals are decent – but they seem somewhat out of place. “Sober” heavily relies on the smooth vocals of Maynard James Keenan soaring over the droning riffs, and without that dynamic, the result is somewhat… different.
