VOIVOD To Release Video Game Inspired By The Band’s Sci-Fi Universe

In a first for the band, and maybe even the metal industry, Voivod have announced that they’ve partnered with Chaosmonger Studio to develop an official video game based on the band’s sci-fi universe.

The game, titled Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior, is going to be available on Kickstarter and Steam, but has no release date as of yet. Voivod is simply saying the game is coming soon.

The description on Steam says the game takes place in a “dystopian nightmare,” and the retro-style game “blends high-energy combat, exploration, and a mind-bending story drawn from the band’s vast conceptual universe.” Kickstarter’s description further elaborates that the exploration is vast and that the visual style is also inspired by Voivod‘s artwork.

Voivod‘s collaboration on the project varied – with Michel “Away” Langevin helping with visual design and artwork, Daniel “Chewy” Mongrain with adapting Voivod music alongside Yann Latour to a ’90s game soundtrack essence, Denis “Snake” Bélanger providing his voice for acting, and Dominic “Rocky” Laroche testing the gameplay functionality.

Currently, only PC has been confirmed as a gaming system for the upcoming release. Check out what the game is going to look like below.
