VOLUMES Drops Brutal New Single, “Sidewinder”

It’s been two years since Volumes‘ last release hit the airways, and now, Volumes are returning with a hell of a bang with their newest single, “Sidewinder.”

The Los Angeles quartet were dealt some less than ideal cards during their Happier? album cycle back in 2021, affected by the pandemic and COVID restrictions. When Volumes did tour again after the pandemic with Dance Gavin Dance, Volumes bassist Raad Soudani revealed to Knotfest that he only made $1,500 from the tour. And that just wasn’t able to support anyone financially.

According to Soudani, things fell stagnant with the band after that – he even pursued law school – but he never stopped working on Volumes music: “We owe one more album to our label, and honestly, making music is what keeps me going—it reminds me of why we started all this in the first place. The music always comes first.”

While the band’s future is less than clear, Soudani himself said that “things are up in the air with the band,” the band is excited to drop “a really great album, and that’s what matters.”

Volumes‘ current lineup vocalist Michael Barr, bassist Raad Soudani, vocalist Myke Terry, and drummer Nick Ursich have yet to formally announce their upcoming record. However, due to Soudani‘s chat with Knotfest, it’s safe to assume it’s not too far away.
