While playing the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario this past Friday, Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell dove deep into the iconic grunge band’s lesser known songs and pulled out a classic for the first time in more than three decades.
At about two-thirds of his set, Cantrell and backing vocalist Greg Puciato launched into “Hate To Feel”, a dark, dirty, dirgey song from the classic five-time multi-platinum record Dirt. This song is so rare to see played live that according to Setlist.fm, the last time Alice In Chains themselves played it to a crowd was November 4, 1993 in Sydney, Australia. It was also the first time Cantrell played the song as a solo act.
Thankfully, some intrepid fans recorded the performance for posterity. Cantrell is currently out on tour with Filter throughout North America. You can find the full list of dates and a video of the aforementioned performance below.
